LUST AND LOVE

Marielle had been living a mundane life; going to work, going home, going to the store, and back home again. There was no excitement or joy in her world and she had almost resigned herself to living a life of quiet stagnation. That all changed the day Russell walked into her life.

The moment their eyes met, Marielle felt a spark of something ignite within her. She felt a searing heat wash over her from head to toe as she realized it was attraction; she felt lust for the man who was now standing so close to her.

At first she tried to ignore it, letting it pass her by like a passing stranger on the street. But her thoughts kept coming back to him throughout the next few days and soon enough she knew she had to do something.

Marielle decided to take the plunge and ask Russell on a date. She was nervous, but determined not to let her fear take over. Russell accepted her invitation with enthusiasm and the two began to go out together on the weekends, always having a wonderful time.

Tonight was no different. The two had been out for dinner and were now enjoying a romantic stroll in the park. They talked about their hopes, their dreams, and everything else in between.

The night was drawing to a close, but Marielle could feel the tension between them growing. Russell took her hand and pulled her in closer. Her heart raced and her stomach tightened as she looked up at him.

Then, he leaned down and kissed her. It was a gentle kiss at first, yet it stirred something inside of her. She responded to the kiss, feeling an unexpected wave of emotion coursing through her.

For the first time, Marielle felt as though she were torn between two universes; her attraction for Russell being one and a strange new emotion that made her head spin. She slowly realized what was happening—this was no longer just lust; she was feeling love.

Marielle felt elated, as if a long-forgotten part of her had been set free. She reached up to clasp Russell’s face in her hands and returned his kiss. The night ended with the promise of many more to come, the seed of a new love planted and growing.
